The One Where Things Get Ugly Again

Fresh off the Dallas Stars asswhoopin, the Boston Bruins travelled to Ottawa... where they met the same fate. This time, though, the Senators managed to notch seven goals against the Bruins, unlike the Stars who stalled at six.

Andrew Raycroft only made it to the second period, facing sixteen shots and stopping only eleven. John Grahame had a similar fate, stopping only nine of eleven shots faced. Yes - the Senators seven goals came on only twenty-seve shots, a rather impressive shooting percentage. It could have been worse, as the Bruins actually managed to kill four power play opportunities the Senators had.

Sean Brown continued his personal march towards Top Goon in Massachussets, earning four penalty minutes, which is pretty much his average nowdays.

Despite the blowout loss, Frantisek Kaberle earned the second game star with his net even play in twenty-five minutes on the ice as well as one goal and two assists in the game, leading the Bruins in scoring. Michael Ryder led the Stars in scoring with four assists, while Teemu Selanne added three points (2-1).

As a rare bright spot, Jay Henderson scored four goals in Providence against the Grand Rapids Griffins in the warm-up game, giving him thirty-four on the year.
