Capitals Corral Coyotes

Four different players contributed two points each to lead the Washington Capitals to a 4-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Day 32. The result lifts Washington to 7-8-2 for the season.

The Capitals jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period behind goals from Cory Sarich and Peter Tenkrat. Todd Warriner and Patrick Marleay setup Sarich at 0:50, and Tenkrat's goal was unassisted at 17:11.

Phoenix pulled a goal back in the second period. Cammalleri was the scorer from Zetterberg and Datsyuk at 11:41.

The Coyotes made it 2-2 early in the final period when Zidlicky netted his second of the season from Malik and Kolnik at 1:33. Washington rallied with a pair of goals in a 2:11 span to earn the win. Marleau scored the eventual game-winner from Zigmund Palffy and Todd Warriner at 8:13. Radoslav Suchy added an insurance marker from Palffy and Sarich at 10:24.

Manny Legace made 24 saves to earn the win and improve to 4-6-2. Patrick Lalime stopped 15 shots in the loss.

The Capitals visit Ottawa on Day 33.
