Oilers Make Flurry of Changes in hopes to get something going

The Oilers Managment have been disappointed to say the least and have made 3 deals hoping to land the team back up into playoff contention. The Oilers sit at a 4-8-3 record after their first 15 games and in a flurry of moves they hope to of made some key changes to their line-up. The Biggest deal saw assistant captain Adrian Aucoin go to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Janne Niinimaa who is a more defensive minded defenseman. Niinimaa hasn't done much this season and has been traded to two different teams before now finding his new home in Edmonton. The 2nd deal increased their penalty kill and 3rd line defensive capabilities. Niko Dimitrakos went to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Ethan Moreau a defensive minded forward that was dealt to the blues from the Oilers last season. Moreau is happy to be coming back to the Oilers and hopes to help their 3rd line from allowing so many goals against. The 3rd deal of the night was announced and saw Defensman Willie Mitchell come from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Niclas Havelid and Junior Defensman P.J. Atherton. The Oilers main focus is to have their pro team competitive this year and with these transactions I beleive they may of fixed some of the key holes in their line-up.
