Conklin Makes 39 saves to beat Penguins

With Kariya & Boughner out and a shortened bench the Oilers were not very optimistic going into yesterday's game so it took the motivation of Ty Conklin's outstanding goaltending to get the team going. Conklin was unbeatable. Allison, White, Dupuis and Battaglia scored for the Oilers while an early goal by Sullivan is was the only thing that beat Conklin. The new combination of Dupuis and White worked well together on the 2nd line and Dupuis is likely to retain his promotion to the 2nd line for this upcoming game against the Flames. Jason Wiemer makes his Oilers debut tonight vs. the Flames and is expected to fill in some much needed spots on the Penalty Kill and playing the point on the 2nd Power Play. The Oilers have started to finally click and have shown an improvement as of late moving into 8th spot in the conference. They go in Healthy vs. The 1st place flames and they'll need it. Conklin is likely to get the start based on his previous performances.

In Junior the Oilers pulled off their first win. The Junior Oilers coach knew their had to be a mix up in lines and totally redid their line-up. Sebastien Centomo had a shut-out while last years star goaltender Leneveu was sitting on the bench to think about his poor play this season.
