R.A.D. Line Leads Rangers

JP Dumont stripped Sergei Fedorov of the puck and placed a soft pass on the stick of Mike Ribeiro in practice yesterday. Ribeiro danced around fellow team mate Steve Eminger and, with a flick of his wrist, lifted a perfect pass to Daniel Alfredsson who one timed a rocket past Mike Dunham.

It may have only been practice but it could have been a highlight from any recent game for the newly dubbed RAD line (Ribeiro, Alfredsson, Dumont). The two young forwards have combined with the star vet to form one of the leagues most effective trios.

They have that chemistry that is so elusive and so magical when it appears.

"Alfie's great," oozed a smiling Ribeiro after practice. "It's such a thrill to be on a line with a guy like that. He can find you with a pass anywhere in traffic and if you get him the puck he'll bury it. Dumont is so smart and really holds the fort defensively."

"Yeah we just seem to know where each other are out there," interjected Dumont.

Alfredsson, whose 28 points tie him with Ribeiro for the team lead insists that the two younger forwards deserve the accolades they're getting. "They're both highly skilled and can play in both ends of the rink. Don't take anything away from them, they've come into their own."

The line ranks 1, 2, 3 in team scoring while combining for a combined for a +25. They've all achieved this while playing on the second line.

"That will likely change very soon," hinted coach Neilson.

Ranger fans are hoping increased ice time for the line will lead to more wins as the team continues to struggle.
