Panthers Score Late For 4-3 Victory Over Canadians

The Panthers out shot the Canadians 37-25 but it took a last minute goal before they secured a 4-3 victory to snap their 2 game losing streak.

Eric Daze took the game into his own hands as he was instrumental in setting up the Panthers first 3 goals and was named the games first star for his efforts. Daze's first two assists came in the first period. Patrik Stefan scored at 6:58 and Travis Roche scored his first of the year at 11:41, both from a Daze pass, to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead. Vincent Damphousse cut the lead to 2-1 at 14:22 and Montreal had the momentum on their side going into the second.

Mike Grier tied the game at 2 all at 11:11 of the second period. Martin Brodeur had to be especially solid in the period as the Canadians were out shot 14-5. Stephen Weiss was the recipient of another Daze pass at 14:41 to give the Panthers a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes.

The Canadians never gave up and tied the game 3-3 at 7:17 on Samuel Pahlsson's 9th goal of the season. The Panthers got the game winner from an unlikely source that has been the Panthers secret weapon this year. Yanick Lehoux the Panthers fourth line center scored his 10th of the year in the last minute of play at 19:23 to give the Panthers a 4-3 victory and snapping their two game losing streak.

Florida hopes to continue their winning ways as they host the Buffalo Sabres next.
