Canucks off to flying start

Th Vancouver Canucks are off to their best start since the dismissal of the former gm.A 5-2 start has them sitting 2nd in the western conference.

A visit to the lowly oilers was just what the Canucks needed to rest Alexander Ault and get Byron Defoe his second start and win of the season.Canucks are looking to get threw this season with no confrontations with comishoner Longer.

Canucks got off to a flying start with 2 1st period goals by Lehtinen his 4th and Holmqvist his 1st of the season.Both players were aquired from sens last season.The Oilers came out flying in the 2nd and scored 3 straight goals.Havelid with his 1st was then followed by Kariya,s 8th of the season.Primeau then put the oilers up 3-2 and it looked like the Oilers had taken over the game.But a mere 26 seconds later ex Star Mike Knuble scored his 2nd of the year from Rick Nash to tie the game up.

The 3rd was a hectic struggle as both teams wanted the 2 points.Jason Allison gave the Oilers a 4-3 lead at the 4;26 mark.Scott Walker tied the game up 5 minutes later frpm Zednik and Lang.It was his 1st of the season .Chris McAllister then pulled the bonehead move of the night and took a 5 min spearing major.Rick Nash made him pay with his 4th of the season as the Canucks pp starts to click on a regular basis.

The Canucks will now wait 3 days for the Carolina Hurricanes to make their way out west.This should be a big test for us as the Canes were supposed to be good but have struggled so farr this season
