Flyers Seeking 1st Win of Season

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Regardless of how the Flyers record may look the team has played much better than expected.

The Flyers management has seen some glimpses of promise from the squad over the 7 regular season game so far and apparently they are the only ones. During the 7 game winless streak, the Flyers have faced some high powered offences and kept the game very close.

In game one of the season the Flyers out shot the Islanders in a hard fought 4-2 loss. The second game was the Andrew Raycroft show, he was unbelievable in a 1-1 tie with the Calgary Flames making 40 saves and holding the Flames off the board in all 17 of their power play opportunities. The Flyers followed this up with a tough 3-2 loss over the Carolina Hurricanes. In the 4 remaining games the scores read as follows, Sharks 2 Flyers 1, Flyers 2 Senators 2, Flyers 1 Stars 5 and Flyers 2 Nashville 4. Despite the game vs. Stars, the Flyers have played very well through the 60 minute affairs and if needed 65 minutes. Philadelphia will be looking to get their goaltender his first win of his career next game.

Currently the Flyers are off to one of the worst starts in franchise history and with the upcoming schedule it doesn’t look like it will get any easier. Philadelphia plays the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday, followed by the New Jersey Devils and a home and home with the Chicago BlackHawks.
