Oilers off to Terrible Start

Well after having the best record in the Pre-Season the Edmonton General Management did not expect this start. The Oilers are Last in their conference. With a 1-4-2 record the Oilers need to make some changes. They made a deal to help the teams defensivness by obtaining well rounded forward Jason Wiemer who will be heading their penalty kill as well as starting on their 2nd line, The Oilers sent veterean Tony Amonte to the kings. Amonte seems to have lost his touch with his old age and has done absolutley nothing for the Oilers on their 2nd line in 7 Games Played. The Oilers have suffered a couple injuries early on to Bob Boughner who recently recovered and Pascal Dupuis is currently Day-To-Day after suffering a chest injury in the game vs. the Canucks. The Oilers go up against the Ducks tonight in a hope to turn things around. Amonte is scheduled to play his last game with the Oilers before being shipped off to his new home in L.A. The only positives for the Oilers so far this season is the Oilers 1st Line, who have combined for 38 points.

The Junior Oilers are off to an even worse start. With a devastating 0-6-1 start. With the worst goals against in the league and only 15 goals for. The Junior Oilers
relied on Leneveu's excellent goaltending last season to give them even a fighting
chance and this year he's had a terrible start. In 7 games he's sporting a 4.75 GAA and a .851 Save %. Centomo is getting the start and his chance to take a stab at the starting role. The Junior Oilers is a team full of undisciplined scrappers and without some changes in either attitude or line-up the Junior Oilers are in for a long unsuccessful season.
