Bruins get offensive
The Boston Bruins had their finest offensive output of the season, scoring five goals, though still managed to lose to Buffalo 6-5.
The Bruins jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with Andy McDonald scoring his third of the season at 10:54 of the first period, and Tomas Kaberle finally getting in the goal column almost two minutes later.
John Grahame, getting the start for Andrew Raycroft as punishment for missing the team's skatearound, then allowed three unanswered goals in the second. The team found itself in a familiar position - losing - after Andrei Zyuzin put the Sabres ahead.
Brian Rolston found the net about a minute later for his first goal of the year to net the game at three a piece. That would be short lived, though, as thirty seconds before the period expired, Simon gagne put the Sabres back up again.
Jochan Hecht took the ice in the third period full of piss and vinegar, scoring just twenty seconds in as Keith Tkachuk marked up his team-leading sixth assist of the year. Andrei Zyzuzin quickly scored his second of the game though to put the Sabres back up to stay.
Jason Spezza and Brian Rolston both scored again, but the Sabres went home happy. The sparse crowd of 8,067 did not.
The Bruins host the Kings tomorrow night as they return to the ice to try to double their win total for the year.
